General information

Africa is, without a doubt, the continent of the 21st century. That is why it has become urgent to open a space where several academics can share their research work with students interested in the continent. The Diploma course in African Studies seeks for attendees to venture into African studies, expand their knowledge and become decision-makers on issues related to the African region.

Admission profile

Professionals and specialists from different disciplines belonging to the public or private sector, academics, undergraduate and graduate students and the general public related to the subject.

Some skills such as ease of speech, critical thinking and analytical ability will be very useful within the diploma. Through these characteristics it is sought to set up a profile that allows students to develop research and job opportunities that respond to their professional interests.

Why is this diploma course worth it?

This diploma course works as an introduction to African studies and is an excellent support for students seeking both to deepen their studies on Africa and to focus their professional career in this region.

The PUEAA-UNAM Diploma course in African studies is a continuing education program, which, unlike others, focuses on fundamental issues of contemporary Africa to broaden understanding and perception of the region.

The thematic axes were raised by specialists who have dedicated their professional lives researching the continent and also will be able to advise you during and after the diploma.

Instructors

The instructors and module coordinators are, mainly, teachers and researchers who graduated from the UNAM with extensive experience in studies on Africa.

Many have lived and studied in African universities. The information they possess and will transmit throughout the course is first-hand.

What will you get at the end?

The students who successfully complete the diploma, in addition to receiving their diploma endorsed by the UNAM, will have a greater ability to perceive the different phenomena that occur in Africa.

Diploma course development

The diploma will be taught in 6 modules with a total duration of 120 hours

Duration: from August 12, 2020 to March 17, 2021
