Of Haitian origin and nationalized Mexican, he studied at the Instituto Superior de Ciencias Médicas, Carlos J. Finlay, in Camaguey. He completed his Master's Degree in Public Health at the National Institute of Public Health in the area of concentration in epidemiology with the thesis "Association between smoking imitation behavior among medical students and the smoking habit of their parents" in 2000. From 2006 to the present he is an epidemiologist and works at the General Hospital of Pemex, in Campeche. In 2010 he was recognized for his outstanding participation in the V International Congress "Integral Health in Petroleos Mexicanos" where he presented his paper "Drinking behaviors, food and physical activity, and their relationship with obesity in platform workers".
