Gender Equality and Sustainability of Women's Entrepreneurship: an empirical regional conference, meeting SDGs #1,#5 and #8
September 06-07, 2021
- Context and Summary
1.1 Aims of the Conference:
The Conference aims to enhance gender equality and sustainability of women's entrepreneurship by identifying new opportunities, support programs to strengthen the potentials and solutions for sustainable women's entrepreneurship and women owned-business in regional aspects. Diversification and enhancing entrepreneurial skills are the academic responsibilities of linking the theories and business facts in the private and public sectors, especially in women-owned businesses and small businesses, regarding sustainable development goals (SDGs). The Conference also adds to the literature by determining the new aspects in the different countries and regions and using new analysis techniques to fill the gender gaps, the sustainability of women's entrepreneurship and enhancing entrepreneurial skills in the unique visions of sustainable entrepreneurship. The results of the Conference can lead to social inclusion, empowerment of women and gender diversification.
1.2 The originality of the Conference:
There are many studies on gender and entrepreneurship. Still, there is not enough research on gender equality and identifying the new opportunities of entrepreneurship, the sustainability of women's entrepreneurship, small business, women owned-business and diversification at the regional aspects. In this sense, the Conference has an element of originality and importance.
1.3 Evidence to support the need for the Conference:
Studies show and suggest that we would fill the gap and recommend solutions regarding the sustainability of women's entrepreneurship by having a comprehensive, regional and global perspective. Apostolopoulos et al. (2018) show that entrepreneurship engines can transform the world and overcome global challenges' diverse nature. Also, Gender diversity in the board of companies positively correlates with companies' innovation performance (Cicchiello, Kazemikhasragh, and Monferrà, 2020). Brush et al. (2019) conclude that considering many aspects of the entrepreneurship ecosystem, women are disadvantaged. The Conference can be a unique solution to reduce the gap in the studies and facilitate business opportunities.
1.4 Bridge the gap between research and positive real-world change and fill the literature gap
Gender issues discussed by politicians, theorists and academics and the impact of gender equality, diversification and entrepreneurship changed the investments, communities and the way of thinking about the future. All new aspects in communities, societies and organizations positively impact businesses, generating economic cohesion and confidence. However, new aspects come to rethink the policies that can improve the equality level and enhance entrepreneurial skills during a crisis. Consequently, the Conference's theme is unique and creative; therefore, the goal is to enhance equality, enhance entrepreneurial skills and identify the opportunities and solutions for sustainable women's entrepreneurship, social inclusion, and women-owned businesses regional aspects.
The conference results will lead to gender equality, enhance entrepreneurial skills and sustainable women's entrepreneurship in the diversification of job markets. So, the Conference will suggest policymakers focus on the different aspects of gender gaps and regulate job markets and societies based on sustainable women's entrepreneurship and sustainable development goals (SDGs). Regarding sustainable development goals (SDGs), gender diversity in the labour force positively impacts companies' innovation performance (Cicchiello, Kazemikhasragh, and Monferrà, 2020). Gender equality and sustainability of women's entrepreneurship can get benefits to wealth prospects in the long term. The empirical findings of the Conference will highlight the urgent need for policymakers to implement changes in the economic, regulations, organizations and social structure to fill gender gaps and enhance entrepreneurial skills to offer a sustainable environment in the job market. Additionally, gender diversity is a factor of SDG reporting implementation by companies in the low- and middle-income countries in Asia and Africa (Girón et al., 2020).
There are target groups to get benefits from the Conference; Policymakers, International Organizations such as the United Nations and its agencies, NGOs, Public companies and organizations, private companies and organizations, academics and researchers.
