He is a graduate of the Centro Universitario de Estudios Cinematográficos (CUEC, today Escuela Nacional de Artes Cinematográficas) and holds a degree in Graphic Communication from the National School of Plastic Arts (ENAP). He holds a Master's degree in Visual Arts from the ENAP, where he received an honorable mention, and a PhD in Art History from the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the UNAM. He obtained the title of University Specialist in Visual Arts: Production, Management and Restoration from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain; and the Diploma in Artistic Reception and Cultural Consumption from the Center for Research, Documentation and Information of Plastic Arts of INBA. He is a full-time “A” professor, PRIDE D with 37 years of academic seniority. He has served as technical secretary of CUEC and ENAP, and as secretary of the Direction, Linking and Planning of the FAD. He has been a member of the Advisory Council of the CUEC and of the Academic Commission for the Review of Plans and Programs of Study, which prepared the project for the Bachelor's Degree in Cinematography. He was appointed by the Governing Board as the first director of the Escuela Nacional de Artes Cinematográficas for the period 2019 - 2023. He won third place in IMCINE's First National Feature Film Screenplay Competition with his script "Navegantes del Río Churubusco"; his short film "Complesso da camera" was presented at the Venice Film Festival, and his film "El centro del laberinto" was nominated in the shortlist for the Ariel Awards as best medium-length film.
