He is a Permanent Researcher and the Director of the Institute for Philosophical Research at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) for the 2024–2028 term. He is a Level III member of Mexico’s National System of Researchers. His areas of specialization include logic, the philosophy of logic, and the philosophy of mathematics. He holds a PhD in Contemporary Philosophy from the Autonomous University of the State of Morelos. He earned a master’s degree in philosophy of science from UNAM and a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the Meritorious Autonomous University of Puebla. He has led multiple research projects funded by PAPIIT, Conahcyt, and various international institutions, and has conducted research stays at academic centers in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. He has delivered keynote lectures and participated in specialized seminars in over a dozen countries, and currently leads a research group with broad international collaboration. He is the author of more than 40 articles published in leading journals such as Synthese, Erkenntnis, and Studia Logica. In 2017, he became the first Latin American inducted into the Logicians’ Liberation League. His honors include the 2022 UNAM Award for Young Academics. He is Associate Editor of Studia Logica and serves on several national and international editorial and academic boards.
