He has a bachelor’s degree in History from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (2005-2009) and a master's degree in Asian and African Studies, with a specialty in Japan, from El Colegio de México (2011-2013). He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in History from Sophia University (上智大学) in Tokyo.

His area of study focuses on modern history, the central themes of his research are political and religious relations between Portugal, Spain, Japan, and the New Spain in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, particularly, the mission of Tsunenaga Hasekura and the Jesuit missions in Japan. Besides, he studies New Spain devotions and the history of the Church in Mexico.

He is also the current president of the Circle of Mexican Students in Japan (Nichibokubashi) and participated in 2016 and 2017 as a member of the selection committee of the Mexico-Japan Exchange Program in Onjuku.
