Javier Sacristán

Bachelor of History from the National Autonomous University of Mexico and Master of Asian and African Studies with a specialization in Africa from El Colegio de México, his thesis "The Traces of Rebellion: A Historiographical Review of the Mau Mau Rebellion" led him to participate in the creation of the website to learn Swahili between 2015 and 2017. From 2018 to 2022, he was responsible for Continuing Education at the University Program of Studies on Asia and Africa (PUEAA) and has participated in various colloquia on decolonization and armed rebellions in Africa at UNAM and UAM. As a collaborator of the digital magazines Heraldos Negros and Rebelión, he contributes his experience in the field of African studies. He teaches the subject of Sub-Saharan Africa from the 18th to the 21st centuries at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, as well as Contemporary Africa at the Universidad Iberoamericana. Since 2018, he has coordinated the diplomas in Asian and African studies and the course on Conflicts and Projections in the African continent. In addition, he is part of the authors of Coordinates 2050, a publication that explores African themes.
