Graduated in Social Sciences and Public Administration, he holds a Master's and PhD in Sociology from the University of São Paulo. He was a visiting researcher at the Colegio de México and at the Center for Iberian and Latin American Studies at the University of California, San Diego. He is a professor and researcher of the Undergraduate Course in Public Policy Management and the Graduate Course in Latin American Integration at the University of São Paulo and also co-coordinator of the Working Group "China and the Map of World Power" of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO).
