Internationalist and Political Scientist specialized in international relations and economic development in the Korean Peninsula and China, as well as in the links between Latin America and East Asia. He is a Doctor and Master of Political Science from Columbia University, New York; and a Degree in International Relations from UNAM. He was a member of the Mexican Foreign Service and held various management positions at the Matías Romero Institute of the Secretary of Foreign Relations. He has consulted for international organizations such as the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) and has been an invited speaker on five continents. He is the author of numerous articles and co-author/editor of books, among which are: Minimal History of Korea (Mexico, The College of Mexico 2009), China Engages Latin America. Tracing the Trajectory (Boulder, EU, Lynne Rienner, 2011) and The Global Financial and Economic Crisis in the South: Impact and Responses, Dakar, Senegal, CODESRIA, 2015. He is currently a professor at the Autonomous Metropolitan University-Xochimilco and National Researcher Level II of the National System Researchers in Mexico.
