He graduated as an Internationalist from the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences of the UNAM. He completed graduate studies at the same institution and holds a PhD in Political and Social Sciences with orientation in International Relations. Since 2016 he is the coordinator of the Permanent Seminar of African Studies, which organizes every year academic activities on African issues in the FCPyS, among which are: videoconferences, concerts, conferences, academic conferences, gastronomic exhibitions, among others. He is a professor at the FCPyS of the UNAM in the area of Mexican Foreign Policy, Theory and Methodology of International Relations and Regional Studies. He has been visiting professor at ITESM, campus Chihuahua. His research interests are: theory and methodology in international relations, regional studies and African studies. He has participated in several courses at the Graduate Program of the FCPyS, the Institute of Anthropological Research, the Center for Research on Latin America and the Caribbean, the University Program of Asian and African Studies and the University Program of Cultural Diversity and Interculturality.

He has conducted two research stays in Africa. The first one, in Cotonou, Benin, where he was able to carry out activities for the signing of a Collaboration Agreement between UNAM and the Abomey-Calavi University. The second, at the Fundamental Institute of Black Africa of the Cheikh Anta Diop University, in Dakar, Senegal. He has been recognized by the office of the presidency of the African Union for his contributions to the scientific construction of the discourse on Africa and its diaspora. He has multiple publications on African studies and is involved in the dissemination on Africa in various media.
