Tenured full-time researcher at the Economics Research Institute (IIEc) from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM); where she also served as Academic Secretary. Bachelor’s degree in Economics by UNAM; Master’s degree in Demography and a Ph.D. in Population Studies, both from El Colegio de México. In 2012 she won first place in the Gustavo Cabrera Acevedo Award of El Colegio de México, in the category of population research. Holder of the 2017 National University Distinction Award for Young Academics (Reconocimiento Distinción Universidad Nacional para Jóvenes Académicos) in the area of Research in economic-administrative sciences. Member of the National System of Researchers, level 1. Her research and publications thrive on Demography and Economics; Economic impact of population change; Economics and population aging; Gender and Economics and Health Economics. She has publications in international indexed and national journals recognized by the National Council for Science and Technology (CONACYT). Part of the formulation team of reports for the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (CEPAL). She is responsible for the research projects “Economic security and poverty in the older adult population in Mexico” and “Applied economics: empirical research strategies”, funded by UNAM.
