Assistant Professor in Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas’s History Division (Center for Research and Teaching in Social Sciences). He holds a PhD in History from El Colegio de México and has been a visiting researcher at Yale University and Jagiellonian University in Krakow. His research interests include the history of migration control from a political and social perspective in Mexico’s 20th century. The outcomes of his research have been awarded prizes from Mexico’s Foreign Ministry, the Latin American Studies Association and the Association of Latin Americanist Historians of Europe. He is currently working on publishing his book on “migration control and human smuggling in Mexico during the period 1917-1954” (el Colegio de México).
