She holds a PhD in Political and Social Sciences with a specialization in International Relations from the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences (FCPyS) at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She was a visiting researcher at the WTO Studies at Aoyama Gakuin University at Tokyo, Japan (2010 and 2014) and served as treasurer of the Latin American Association of Asian and African Studies , Mexico Section (2015-2018). She has led several research projects funded by UNAM’s Support Program for Research and Technological Innovation Projects (PAPIIT) focused on the Asia-Pacific region. Her recent publications include “Japanese Geopolitics and the Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP): Japanese Geopolitical and Strategic Schools” and "Japan's Power and Security in the Face of 21st-Century Challenges”. She is currently an Associate Professor “C” at the FCPyS–UNAM, and a member of the National System of Researchers (SNII).
