PhD in Social Sciences with a specialization in Political Science from the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences – Mexico Campus (FLACSO – Mexico). He is a Full-Time, Permanent, Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Social Research (IIS) of the UNAM, where he served as Academic Secretary (2011-2013) and Director (2017-2023). Since December 6, 2023, he has served as Coordinator of the Humanities at UNAM. He is co-coordinator of the Institutional Academic Seminars: "Democratic Perspective" and "Movements and Institutions" (Movin), both at the IIS-UNAM. His research focuses on democracy and social movements. He is a professor and tutor in the Graduate Program in Political and Social Sciences at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences of the UNAM. He is the author of two books and co-author of one more; he has coordinated or compiled 15 books, among other publications.
