Xiaoxiao Xie

Is an associate professor in the History Department, College of Liberal Arts at Shanghai University. Prior to his current appointment, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher and then as an assistant professor at the same institution. He is also currently a research fellow at the Institute of Global Studies, Shanghai University. He holds a PhD from the University of Adelaide. Xie is trained as a historian, and publishes mainly in the area of Australian studies. His research interests include the history of Australia’s engagement with Asia, the history of education and Global Studies. He is currently working on a project concerning compulsory education in colonial Australia, examined through a transnational lens.
