Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Tokyo. He holds two master’s degrees, one in engineering (Nagaoka Institute of Technology) and another in regional planning (Cornell University). Professor Sadatsugu Nishiura teaches urban and regional planning in the Program of Environmental System Engineering, School of Science and Engineering and its graduate school at Meisei University, Tokyo.
