She holds a Law degree from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), a Master’s degree in the Needs and Rights of Children and Adolescents, and a PhD in Law in Fundamental Rights from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. She currently serves as a Full-Time Senior Researcher B, holds PRIDE Level C distinction, and is a Level II member of the National System of Researchers in Mexico. Her areas of research include the rights of children and adolescents, human rights, gender equality, the right to non-discrimination, and the protection of vulnerable groups. She is the author of three single-authored books, five co-authored volumes, six edited collections, and over fifty academic contributions published in journals and collective works. She is a member of the editorial boards of Revista Jurídica Ibero and Isonomía ITAM. Since 2006, she has taught at the Faculty of Law at UNAM. She has delivered five master’s-level courses, three doctoral-level courses, and has coordinated seventeen editions of the Diploma on the Right to Non-Discrimination. She served as Academic Secretary of UNAM’s Institute for Legal Research (2011–2015) and as Attorney General of UNAM (2015–2020). In 2021 she was awarded UNAM’s Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz Prize. Since 2022, she has been serving as Director of UNAM’s Institute for Legal Research—the first woman appointed to this position.
