He holds a PhD from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and has been a tenured professor and researcher at Tecnológico de Monterrey since 1996, where he teaches at the undergraduate, graduate and executive education levels. He is a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI) of the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT) since 2009. He has published more than 40 research papers in books and refereed academic journals in different countries on International Business and Regulation. He is editor of three books with Cambridge University Press (UK) and Fudan Development Institute Press (People's Republic of China). He is on the Editorial Board of Competition and Regulation in Network Industries, Harvard Deusto BRJournal and AD-Minister. He has presented research papers at international conferences and, as a guest lecturer, has taught in several countries.
