Director of the National School of Cinematographic Arts (Escuela Nacional de Artes Cinematográficas – ENAC) at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), a position she has held since June 2023. She holds a degree in Acting and a diploma in Theatre Directing from the University Theatre Center (Centro Universitario de Teatro - UNAM) As an actress, she participated in numerous university theatre productions and television programs. She has directed several stage plays, most notably True West by Sam Shepard, for which she received the Best New Director award in 1990 from the Mexican Association of Theatre Critics. In film, she coordinated the acting workshop for Like Water for Chocolate, directed by Alfonso Arau, and worked as an acting coach for Chicogrande, directed by Felipe Cazals. She served as General Director of the Film Training Center (Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica – CCC) for ten years, and also directed the Cinemanía film complex and the film magazine Toma. She held the position of Executive Secretary of FIDECINE, a federal fund supporting the production, distribution, and exhibition of Mexican cinema, and was Academic Director at Casa del Teatro, a renowned acting school. Since 1984, she has taught acting at various film schools in Mexico. From 2019 to mid-2023, she served as Director of the National Center for the Arts (Centro Nacional de las Artes – CENART), where she promoted interdisciplinary arts education and institutional collaboration at a national level.
