He has a M.Sc in Mexican History for The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM); a PhD in History for Historical Research Institute (IIH), UNAM. He is a Researcher at African American Studies Seminar and Academic Coordinator of Asian-American Studies Seminar, both belonging to Intercultural and Cultural Diversity Studies University Program (PUIC), UNAM. He is currently a Visting Researcher at History Department of University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). His academic studies are focused in History of racism and discimination against African-descendant and Asian-descendant populations in Mexico and Latin America; History of African and Asian migration to colonial Mexico; Demographic History and Historical Sociology. In 2018, He received a Honorable Mention of Latin American Studies Association (LASA) “Charles A. Hale Fellowship for Mexican History”, for his doctoral dissertation.
