Dr Alia Imtoual is the Counsellor (Education & Research) at the Australian Embassy in Mexico. Working closely with her counterpart in Brazil, Alia has responsibility for Australia's education, training and research relationships with Mexico and other Pacific Alliance countries (Colombia). Alia has over two decades of experience in education and public policy in Australia including higher education, schools, curriculum design, research, and international education. Alia has previously held positions in the education and training sector in Latin America. She has a PhD in Social Science (Gender Studies) and a Bachelor of Education with Honours.
