Halder Debjani

Dr Debjani Halder is a national and international award-winning scholar and filmmaker. She is working as a professor in Schools of Liberal Arts and Science in RV University Bangalore. She had received Fellowship Award in Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Rashtrapati Nivas, Shimla. She has total 11 years of postdoctoral research and teaching experience in the field of film Aesthetics, history of world and Indian cinema, film society movement, gender, sexuality, sociology. She received several national and international research fellowships in India and abroad. She was a Gold Medallist in MA. She received a PhD degree in 2011, in film studies, Jadavpur University, India. Dr Halder was the European Excellence Fellow of Central European University, Budapest, She was former Charles Wallace fellow.(2012), She was the former Dr S. Radhakrishnan Fellow and Faculty of Women’s Studies Research Centre in the University of Calcutta. (2015) She was the former Postdoctoral Fellow of Indian Council of Social Science Research, (Ministry of HRD, and Government of India). Her documentary Documenting Agony Ritwik and The Dark fetched several national and International Awards. She is author of 3 monographs and published almost 30 articles in several National and International journals.
