Bachelor's degree in History from the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL). She completed her postgraduate studies in Asian and African Studies, specializing in Japan at the Center for Asian and African Studies of El Colegio de México. Currently, she is a full time professor in the Faculty of Economics at the University of Colima and performs various tasks related to research at the University Center for Studies and Research on the Pacific Rim (CUEICP). She was the National Coordinator of the Latin American Association of Asian and African Studies- ALADAA in Mexico from 2018 to 2021.
