He holds a degree in ethnology from the National School of Anthropology and History. He is currently Associate Researcher "C" full-time (Definitive) attached to (CEIICH-UNAM); Director of the University Program of Cultural Diversity and Intercultural Studies of the UNAM" as of March 18, 2014. Since 1980 he has taught several courses, seminars and chairs in national and foreign universities. He is holder of the chair "Mexico Multicultural Nation" that he teaches in different Faculties of the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He is the author of the following publications: "Mexico, Identity and Nation", Vol. 6, Mexico 2004, and "Fundamental documents of indigenism in Mexico", Vol. 35, Mexico 2015; both works are part of the collection "Cultural Plurality in Mexico" edited by UNAM. He has more than 60 publications such as book chapters and articles in national and foreign journals.
