PhD in International Relations and African Studies from the Autonomous University of Madrid. Bachelor’s and Master’s in Political and Social Studies from the Institute of Political Studies, Sciences-Po in Paris. He has carried out research and field work interns at the Institut Fondamentale d'Afrique Noire of Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar, Senegal. He is currently a full-time professor-researcher assigned to the International Relations Center of the School of Political and Social Sciences of the UNAM. His research topics are: Sufi Islam, Senegalese transnational networks and migrations, identity and state formation and construction processes in Africa and Senegal.
