Principal Researcher and Professor, joined the Institute of Social Research in 1997. Doctor in Political Science, has been a visiting professor in Chicago and the University of Toronto. He is the author, among other books, of Political Biography of Octavio Paz (1993), Mexican Nationalism in the Times of Globalization and Multiculturalism (2014) and I would never lie to anyone of my race (2017). His main areas of study are identity, nationalism and Mexican culture in the United States.
