Researcher at the Institute of Legal Research of the UNAM attached to the research line Rights, Migrations and Mobilities and coordinator of the International Liaison Area of the Institute. From 2015 to 2018 she was a researcher at the Center for Research and Gender Studies at UNAM. She teaches the Graduate Seminar "Qualitative Methodologies for Social Research: Globalization, Gender and Migration".

She holds a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from Tecnológico de Monterrey, a Master's degree in European Studies (2006) from the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and a PhD in Humanistic Studies (2015) with Honorable Mention of Excellence from Tecnológico de Monterrey with the thesis entitled "The construction of autonomy processes for decision-making by returning migrant women workers".

She is a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI 1) and teaches at the MITRA Erasmus Mundus Master in "Intercultural Mediation: Identities, mobilities and conflicts" based at the University of Lille, France. She is a member of the UNESCO - Tec Chair of Ethics and Culture of Peace for the scope of human rights and of the Board of Directors of the Institute for Women in Migration (IMUMI) A.C. Her research interests are: gender and migration, women's autonomy, gender violence.
