Mehdi Moshtagh

Sitarist and composer born in Isfahan, since the beginning of his musical career he has obtained several distinctions among which are: First place in the Youth Festival (Iran 2007) and second place in the University Students Music Festival in 2004. He is a member of the National House of Music of Iran as well as having participated in countless concerts in Asia, Europe and America. He currently resides in Mexico City participating in numerous scenic and cultural spaces, among which are the Esperanza Iris City Theater, The National Music Library, the National Museum of Anthropology and History, the National Museum of Cultures, Old Archbishopric Palace, Chapultepec's Castle, UACM, IMER Radio, UNAM Radio, in addition to giving lectures on Persian music at UNAM, National Sound Library and the Old Archbishopric Palace. In addition to musical interpretation, his current work is complemented by teaching the Setar in individual classes and his participation in seminars and educational conferences on Radif and Persian Music. Mehdi Moshtagh actively participates in unconventional scenic projects that involve artistic interdiscipline; in addition to his work as a composer who through music, he links the Iranian and Mexican cultures.
