Ph.D. in Political Science from the University Paris I, Panthéon-Sorbonne and Diplôme d'Etudes Approfondies in Political Sociology from the same institution. Master’s in political Sociology from the Dr. José María Luis Mora Research Institute and Bachelor’s in Sociology from the School of Political and Social Sciences of the UNAM.

She is an Ordinary Senior Researcher, "A" of T. C., definitive of the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Sciences and Humanities and Professor of the bachelor’s degree in Sociology at the School of Political and Social Sciences, both from UNAM. She is also member of the Register of Postgraduate Tutors in Latin American Studies at UNAM and a member of the Advisory Council of the School of Social Sciences of the University of the Americas, Puebla.

Her main lines of research are: political identities, human rights, civil society organizations and the processes of political change in Mexico and her most recent publications include: Human Rights and Conflicts for Justice in Latin America (2019); "Transitional justice, human rights and institutional framework in the new political scenarios in Mexico", in Les Cahiers ALHIM, Amérique Latine Histoire et Mémoire (2019) and Human rights and violence in Mexico (2018).
