He holds a law degree from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Alicante, Spain. He is a full-time researcher at the Instituto de Investigaciones Filosóficas of the UNAM. Member of the National System of Researchers, level III. Member of the College of Bioethics. He has done research fellowships at the University of Alicante, Oxford University, Torcuato di Tella University, Pompeu Fabra University and the University of Manchester. Author of the books “El concepto de derecho subjetivo” (Fontamara); “El lenguaje de los derechos” (Trotta). “Hacia una teoría constitucional de los derechos humanos” (IECEQ), and with Zamir A. Fajardo, “Derechos de personas jurídicas” (IIJ-CNDH-UNAM). Has been director of Isonomía, Magazine of Theory and Philosophy of Law. Designated director of the Instituto de Investigaciones Filosóficas (IIF) of UNAM, for the 2020-2024 term.
