He holds a PhD in Sciences Transpacific International Relations from the University of Colima. He is a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI) level II. He is currently a professor at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Colima. He is a member of the Advisory Council of the Diplomatic Historical Collection of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Among his most outstanding publications is the book "China and its geopolitical environment. Policies and Institutions of Regional Integration" of 2015where he participated as coordinator. There are also the articles "China in Libya and the anthropology of international relations" from 2014, and "The new Sino-Latin American cooperation of the Remminbi", also from 2014. His lines of research revolve around Mexico-Asia Relations; economic integration processes and ethnicity.
