Research Professor at Universidad Panamericana, Campus Mexico. Research Secretary of the School of Communication. PhD in Political Science from the Department of Politics at the University of Sheffield. Master in Scientific Research Methodologies by the same Department. Member of the National System of Researchers, Level 1. Her lines of research include: contemporary transformations of the State, international foresight and political and social studies with a gender perspective.

She is a member of the Politics Studies Association as well as the International Political Science Association, the Mexican Political Science Association, the Mid West Political Science Association, the Southern Political Science Association and the Latin American Studies Association. Adjunct member of the United Nations High Panel on Women's Economic Empowerment.

She is the author of several publications, most notably her book "Women in mexican politics: a study of representation in a renewed federal and democratic state." (2017). She has also published articles in international indexed journals, including "Federalism and Gender Quotas in Mexico: Analysing Propietario and Suplente Nominations." (2015); "Understanding Equality in Mexico: Women in Politics." (2014); "The decentralization of candidate selection processes in political parties and its impact on the nomination of women in Mexican State Congresses." (2013); " State building in Latin America: democratic quality and limits to political-electoral reforms." (2010).

She has participated in international conferences, including the Annual Conference of the Southern Political Science Association (2018), the Annual Conference of the US Midwest Political Science Association (2018); the General Conference of the European Consortium for Political Research (2016) and the European Conference on Politics and Gender (2015). She has also participated in conferences of national relevance, including the International Congress of the Mexican Political Science Association (2013, 2014, 2015).

Between September 2013 and August 2015 she worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Instituto de Investigaciones Jurídicas of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Within this institution, she carried out the project entitled "Vulnerable Groups: Access to Electoral Justice for Women and Indigenous People in Mexico". Professor at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Campus Santa Fe; the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences of the UNAM; and the Department of Politics at the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom.
