He holds a degree in History from the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, as well as a master's degree in Asian and African Studies, specializing in the Middle East, from the Center for Asian and African Studies of El Colegio de México. He has taught courses on Islamic Societies, Latin America and Theory and Methodology of Research in Universal History, at institutions such as the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters and the Faculty of Advanced Studies Acatlan of the UNAM, as well as at the Universidad Anahuac. His areas of specialization are Arab intellectual history and Orientalism. He is currently Assistant Secretary of the Master's and Doctoral Program in History at UNAM, where he is also pursuing doctoral studies.
