Graduated with a Bachelor's degree in History from the Fes Acatlan in 2008 and is a specialist in economic history from the Faculty of Economics, UNAM. He holds a Master's degree in Economic History from the London School of Economics with a research on the post-colonial banking system in Uganda and Ghana. In 2020 he obtained a PhD degree from the University of Warwick with a thesis on the banking system in Kenya during the last years of colonial rule and the first decades of independence. He has published in refereed journals such as Business history and The Journal of Commonwealth and Imperial History on topics related to banking and savings practices in Africa. He teaches "World Economic History", "History of Economic Thought" and "Economic History of Mexico" at the Faculty of Economics, UNAM and FES Acatlán, as well as "Historiography", "History of Africa" and "The Making of the Modern World" at the University of Warwick. He has also presented papers in various international forums in Europe, Africa and Mexico. He is currently developing a research project on the influence of the British Empire in the modification of savings and investment practices among Africans and how these policies had an impact on the development of financial inclusion policies once these countries became independent.
