General Objective

The objective of the course is to deepen on the learning of the Korean language through K-pop songs and taking advantage of the Hallyu phenomenon. Students are expected to develop professional skills in the Korean language through basic activities that strengthen various language skills, mainly, listening, writing, and reading comprehension. Besides, it seeks to support the learning of new vocabulary within its syntagmatic and paradigmatic connections.

  • Before requesting your registration process, please ask us any additional information and doubts you might have to the mail: educon.pueaa@unam.mx
  • After this, please confirm your interest in enrolling as a student with a mail to the same address.
  • Once your registration is confirmed, in a lapse no longer than 3 business days, we will send an email with the referenced deposit document to make your payment and a brief registration form.
  • Print the payment form and go to any BBVA bank branch to deposit before the deadline.
  • Once you have made the payment, please mail us the original proof of payment with your name and signature on the back, and a copy of your official ID.
  • In case of requiring an invoice, please notify us at the same moment of presenting your proof of payment, along with the fiscal data, to carry it out. OTHERWISE, THE INVOICE WILL NOT BE MADE ON LATER DATES.

Información adicional

This course is mainly based on the perfection of the translation of the lyrics, as well as on memorizing the content, and then practice it by singing it. If necessary, grammar or other exercises will also be assigned.

  • Each session includes the analysis and learning of the content of at least one song. Therefore, the class begins with the essential vocabulary and grammatical constructions for understanding the lyrics.
  • Subsequently, exercises will be carried out to practice the learned material.
  • The lyrics will be translated into Spanish.
  • The students will make linguistic and sociocultural comments.
  • Some quizzes and exercises could be applied to check the comprehension of the content and spelling.
  • Homework.

Evaluación

  • The course provides two exam sessions, one at the mid-term and the other at the end.
  • To have the diploma, it is necessary to have passing grades (at least 60%). These grades are compound by the attendance and the two exams.

Attendance includes the following criteria

  • Participation in class through group discussions and interactions with the teacher on the assigned reading topics.
  • The correct delivery of the assignments given in class.
